VDC Sync SharePoint – Initial Sync
Step 1
- Navigate to the VDC Sync Sharepoint Page
- Open the following link in your browser:

https://jwdanforth.sharepoint.com/sites/VDCSync/Shared Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx
- If the VDC Sync Sharepoint has never been synced to the machine, you may utilize the VDC Sync application found within Company Portal as a short cut to the Sharepoint link as an alternate method.
- You will land in the VDC Sync – Documents library. This directory contains folders that you have permissions to access depending on trade (Pipe_DB, Sheet_DB, VDC Projects).
Step 2
- Now we’ll need to start syncing the SharePoint data through OneDrive.
- Click the “Sync” button in the top menu bar towards the right-hand side.
- When prompted to “Always allow jwdanforth-my-sharepint.com to open links” -> Checkmark the Box & click “Open”
- VDC Sync will now begin syncing the database and projects data to local device and appear in File Explorer under your “John W Danforth Company OneDrive”
Step 3
- Next, we’ll verify OneDrive has populating with the VDC Sync information.
- Open OneDrive Settings from the system tray (carrot icon in the bottom right corner to the left of the clock).
- Select Account.
- Ensure that you see “VDC Sync – Documents” category
- To verify that the sync is active and not paused. Hover over the OneDrive icon to and look at current sync status.
Step 4
- Open OneDrive settings by right clicking on the OneDrive Icon -> Click the Gear -> Select the “Sync and backup” tab
- Scroll down until you see “Advanced Settings” and click it
- Scroll down again until you see “Files-On-Demand” -> click “Download all Files”
- Accept the warning about how many local gigabytes this will utilize.
